Tracey, one of our former volunteers, had this to say about volunteering at Headway Hurstwood Park:
"I hadn't heard of Headway and acquired brain injury before visiting my local volunteer bureau. I wanted to try something different. Volunteering at HHP has given me a different perspective on life and helps me to really appreciate the aspects of life we can take for granted. I've developed a broader range of skills, especially communication, and I've used my volunteering experience at Headway to gain employment within the health and social care sector."
Volunteering with Headway Hurstwood Park and becoming a part of our team approach can make a real difference to the lives of people recovering from acquired brain injury
There are so many ways you can help … please see current roles available (see right). We aim to help you find the right opportunity which suits your interests and aims/objectives. By giving just a little of your time, you can help us to provide more support and empowerment to ABI survivors, and more support for their families.
And at the same time you'll get to have fun, meet new friends, gain valuable experience, boost your CV, do something different, build your confidence and feel good, because the time you give will really help the people in our area who need support and understanding.
As a charity, we gain so much from volunteers, our clients gain from the additional input and you gain from the new experiences - enjoyment, reward, developing skills and confidence, awareness of ABI, valuable experiences, and a boost for your CV.
We look forward to hearing from you.
