Events

Events are organised for three main reasons:

  1. To raise money for specific projects
  2. To raise awareness about acquired brain injury (the hidden disability)
  3. To enjoy time together

National Acquired Brain Injury Awareness Week

This happens annually in May and usually includes events which raise awareness about the general residual effects of ABI. The aim is for improved community and specialist awareness to ensure that community rehabilitation for survivors is more effective and that, generally, people are more able to understand what’s happening for this particular group of people.

We are committed to consistently improving the work we do and the opportunities for people affected by acquired brain injury and therefore regularly look to raise money or receive donations for specific projects.

One current project is to develop six monthly Family Information Days facilitated by Jo Johnson a local Neuro-Psychologist, alongside our team, which will evolve to provide the information, support and advice that we’re told is needed by the really important people whose lives are also much affected by brain injury to a member of their family.

Our annual summer barbecue aims to provide an opportunity for all who are associated with Headway Hurstwood Park to come together and enjoy time together/meet new people.

We hope to meet you at one of our events.
